Chief Risk Officer Communisis
Nick is the senior director of strategic business for Asia Pacific at Forcepoint, responsible for growing the company’s strategic business with its key customers in the region. This involves taking the lead to solve customers’ most complex security issues while accelerating the adoption of data-centric security systems to support business growth and digital transformation. In addition, Savvides is responsible for providing thought leadership and over-the-horizon guidance to CISOs, industry and analysts. Savvides is an information security expert, with over 20 years’ experience. Prior joining Forcepoint, he spent 14 years at Symantec in several roles including Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Asia-Pacific & Japan.
Michelle joined Communisis in February 2016 initially to build a Risk Framework for the ‘Customer Experience’ division supporting clients within strongly regulated markets. She has subsequently brought together the risk, information security and data protection elements of the business to deliver a Risk Function focussed on resilience and sustainable growth.
Prior to Communisis Michelle has over 30 years’ experience across a wide range of disciplines including Lean Sigma, Programme Management and Risk and Governance mostly within the Financial Services Industry. She has successfully held various leadership roles one of which was managing the supplier relationship for work outsourced to Communisis from her previous employer.
Philip Souter, Digital Resilience
In his role as CISO Phillip lead the Information Security function including a multi-year program of work to increase the security posture at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. Previous to this role Phillip spent four years heading up the Technology Services Strategy & Planning Capability. In his Senior Leadership roles, he has managed technology strategy, finance, portfolio planning, networking, voice, infrastructure security and application development teams.
Phillip believes security must be built on the foundation of enabling the organisation to achieve business outcomes. Phillip has strong management and technical cyber security background with design and development of complex governance, risk and compliance strategies, security architecture, security testing and cyber defence, risk and policy development, business resilience and implementation of cyber security programs.
Phillip is well qualified holding the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture Foundation (SABSA) and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certifications in addition to a Bachelor of Computing from La Trobe University.
